Dornoch Experimental Traffic Regulation Order 2023

Following discussions with representatives of the Dornoch Community the Highland Council will be promoting an experimental Traffic Regulation Order which will run for 18 months to assess the benefits of formalised traffic management in the centre of Dornoch and around the Beach Access Road.

You can view the exact details of these restrictions which also cover Waiting Restrictions (Single and Double yellow Lines) in specific locations where issues have been identified.

There will be formalised waiting restrictions around Dornoch Square limiting parking to a maximum of 1-hour maximum stay between 10am and 4pm from 1 May to 31 September in designated bays.

The start of these new restrictions will be advertised in due course leading to signing and lining works taking place to create the traffic management scheme.

We welcome any comments or questions you may have before Monday 27th March 2023 and they can be directed to the Parking team via email parking@highland.gov.uk

The next meeting of the Community Council will be held at 7 p.m. on:

Wednesday 19th April 2023

When available (usually 5 days before the meeting) a copy of the agenda can be downloaded by clicking on the above link.

Until further notice all meetings will be held in the Dornoch Hub with optional virtual access via Zoom. Members of the public are welcome to attend but pre-registration is required by contacting the Secretary.

Community councils are voluntary bodies run by local residents to act on behalf of its area. Community councillors bridge the gap between local authorities and communities, raising awareness of the opinions and needs of the communities they represent.

Community councils facilitate activities promoting the well-being of their communities by bringing people together to make things happen. They also advise, influence, and advocate numerous causes and cases of concern on behalf of local communities.

DACC is governed by the Scheme of Establishment from Highland Council which covers topics including membership rules, elections, and meeting arrangements.

More information is available at the Scottish Government Community Council Website.
