William Graeme Ross1949 - 2023 It is with great sadness that we note the passing of Graeme Ross who died at the Meadows Nursing Home on 18th September. Graeme was the Community Council’s longest standing member, serving in every office, including that of Provost, over a career spanning three decades. His intimate knowledge of Dornoch and its history was legendary. He was a man of integrity, and his actions and convictions were always motivated by what he considered to be best for the town he loved. Typical of the man was that one of his last acts was to finally establish in writing that the Provost's Chain of Office belongs to the people of Dornoch and not the Highland Council! Graeme was also a man of great courage and loyalty; he continued to serve as an active member of the Community Council from his sickbed for the last 10 months of his life, assiduously reading all the meeting papers and actively participating in every meeting via Zoom. He will be sorely missed by his fellow Community Councillors. |
